Biohacking your sleep
The use of a sleep mask whilst you sleep has been clinically proven as a useful tool for ‘biohacking’ your sleep quality. Biohacking involves making small changes to your lifestyle (in this case, your sleep routine) to promote improvements in health and wellbeing.
A ‘good night’s sleep’ according to the National Sleep Foundation is 7 to 9 hours a night of continuous sleep which helps to ensure you can cycle through all four sleep stages:
Awake - the time spent in bed whilst not sleeping, plus any periods where you wake up during the night
Light Sleep - light sleep help guides you into a deeper sleep - it is the time in which your heart rate slows & your muscles relax
Deep Sleep - during deep sleep your body promotes muscle repair & your blood pressure drops
REM (rapid eye movement) sleep - this is the stage at which your brain benefits the most - respiration & heart rate increases and studies show this is where your memory, learning and problem-solving improves. This is also the stage in which we dream
A simple way to ‘hack’ your sleep is to use our Dr Harris Sleep Mask to block all light out. Studies show that a good quality, light-blocking sleep mask acts as a shield to this light, which in turn will help you to get to sleep quicker and avoid having your sleep interrupted by light.
CurrentBody sleep study: The results
In Spring 2022, we asked 12 CurrentBody customers to participate in a sleep study using our Dr Harris Anti-Wrinkle Sleep Mask. Each participant was asked to track their sleep for five consecutive nights (using their smart watch device) without the sleep mask, then follow the same process whilst sleeping using our Sleep Mask.
67% of all participants saw an increase in the time spent asleep. Denise, one of the participants, found a significant change before and after using the mask. “The first two nights I wore the mask I really noticed the difference. When I woke up in the morning I felt like I had slept straight for hours”.
Average REM sleep of all participants improved by eight minutes per night. Manjet, who’s REM sleep increased by 20 minutes on average per night, found that she woke up “refreshed for the day ahead”.

Just 10 minutes to complete a full treatment, it is advised to use the device 3 to 5 times a week. Wearing the mask overnight helps you to achieve longer-lasting anti-wrinkle effects.
The mask blocks out all light when wearing it, so it’s perfect for those who are disturbed by light when they sleep.
You need to make sure the silicone dots are in contact with your skin in order for the mask to work; they should be lightly pressing onto your skin. Because of this, you may have temporary red marks on your face after the treatment - but these should disappear after a few minutes.
Yes, apply then allow to dry.
Wipe the silicone dots clean with a dry cloth. Do not iron or tumble dry. When required, machine wash the mask on a low temperature.
Yes, the mask is a great complementary treatment to fillers, to help maintain their effects.
The mask is made from mulberry silk (unsuitable for vegans), with an elastic headband and silicone dots.
